Passive airspace awareness platform puts drones and manned aircraft on one live map, giving public safety agencies a legal way to see and deconflict the traffic above their operations
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., August 7, 2026 – Tactical Signal Solutions, LLC today announced the general availability of PerimeterScope, a passive airspace awareness platform, launching at Commercial UAV Expo 2026, September 1-3 at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas. PerimeterScope will be on display throughout the show at Booth 1652.
PerimeterScope receives the signals aircraft already broadcast, drone Remote ID and manned aircraft ADS-B, and fuses them with live weather radar on a single deployable map. Its sensing chain is receive-only: PerimeterScope never transmits toward, interrogates, jams, or interferes with any aircraft, which keeps it firmly on the awareness side of federal law and means fire districts, utilities, event operators, and other public safety agencies can deploy it without the federal authority that counter-UAS systems require.
Unlike systems that treat every drone as a threat, PerimeterScope is also built to deconflict legal drone operations alongside manned aviation. TFR whitelisting silences alerts on authorized aircraft, so an air operations supervisor is interrupted only by the traffic that matters. The result is a shared operating picture in which a Part 107 crew, a helicopter, and an unknown contact all appear in context, not as an undifferentiated stream of alarms.
“Every airspace conflict I have seen in disaster response started the same way, with nobody able to answer what is flying overhead right now,” said James Lea, Managing Design Engineer at Tactical Signal Solutions and Field Operations Chief for AERObridge. “PerimeterScope turns the signals in your airspace into one honest picture. It will not show you what does not broadcast, and we will never claim otherwise. What it does show, it shows truthfully, instantly, and legally, anywhere you can set it down.”
Key capabilities:
- Fuses drone Remote ID broadcasts, manned aircraft ADS-B traffic, and live weather radar on a single deployable map interface.
- Fully passive sensing with receive-only detection: no interrogation, no jamming, no spoofing, legal for any agency, company, or event operator in the United States.
- TFR whitelisting suppresses alerts on authorized aircraft, cutting alert fatigue and keeping attention on unknown contacts.
- Field-deployable by a single operator, built for austere environments including wildland fire camps and disaster staging areas.
- Contributes detected drone traffic to ADS-B Exchange, extending the open airspace picture for the whole community.
The platform has already proven itself in the field. In a July 2026 capture, PerimeterScope passively reconstructed eight separate drone flight tracks from broadcast signals alone, including a coordinated multi-drone operation flown from a single ground control station.
PerimeterScope single-operator configurations start at $15,000, with tiered multi-node pricing to be announced at the show. Attendees can see the hardware and the operator interface up close at Booth 1652.
